Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Its a good day to start blogging. -30 outside without the windchill is a good enough reason for me to double up on the blankets and devote some time to my new blog. Let's start with what I am not. I am not a psychologist a relationship specialist, a PR rep, a beautiful barbie doll or God's gift to men. I am so far from any of those things. I have been single for 3 of the 5 years in Mcmurray so I want to blog about my funny experiences, things on my mind, my quirky sense of humor and some funny pictures. I want to highlight fun date ideas in McMurray, places to go, things to do as well as the always funny Mcmurray Male. My whole view on the subject is that to most people this town is temporary so they treat all aspects of their life as temporary. Especially the women. No one commits anymore, then as soon as you think you found a good one you never hear from them again!
I am 28 years old and single in a small town. I've always had the dream of the husband, the house, the dog, the kids and Saturday morning hockey practices. I always thought I would have it all figured out by now. Boy was I wrong! I have had some hilarious dating experiences from the cheapskate, the "forgot to mention I was married", the all out douchebag and the dude that thinks I'm just out for his money. Is chivalry dead? Is opening a door, picking up the tab and actually dating someone for a period of time before jumping in bed together a thing of the past? I hope not, but the evidence is overwhelming.
Then there is the always challenging serious lack of things to do in this town. There are only so many nights you can hang out at Paddy's! I love it there and the live music but its so jammed all the time! Plus I'm getting dangerously close to the dirty 30's. The kids in this town are killing me!

I went for breakfast this morning with some friends from work. It's hard to have any other kind of friends with everyone on different work schedules, but I definitely love the quirky bunch of crazies I work with! So I order my breakfast. As a treat I order pancakes, then everyone else orders. The waitress comes out with all of the food and starts passing it out. She passes me my plate and it has french toast. I tell her I ordered pancakes and she stands there, holding out the french toast like "What do you want me to do about it?" Haha! I guess I have bigger battles to worry about. I smiled and ate my french toast :)
That's enough for my introductory blog. Follow me on twitter for the ups and downs of being the Mcmurray Single Girl on my quest for that perfect partner. @ymmsinglegirl
